..."Open up your heart and feel the magic, it’s all around you. Whether you mingle with the soothsayers, the acrobats, the snake charmers, or the water-sellers you will feel the magic. It is the very same magic that keeps ‘the Royals, the Rock and Rollers and the Regulars’ keep on coming."
Jemaa al-Fnaa Square, Marrakesh, Marocco

Magical Marrakesh is just the name you would like to use to refer to this almost thousand year old city, nestled at the foot of Morocco's mighty Atlas Mountains. Everything these is just like you have seen it in the movies, imagined it from the stories, dreamed of it in your sleep. The colors, the culture, the people are part of your extraordinary experience. And if you wonder how come this place did not make it on your list to visit earlier, keep on wondering because it has been on the list to visit on many before you. In 1943 Winston Churchill said to Franklin Roosevelt about Marrakesh “it is the most lovely spot in the whole world” while they were gazing at one of the beautiful sunsets for which the city is famous.

And if you wonder where was Charlie Chaplin wondering about in 1955 you will not be wrong if you say Marrakesh; however, many more payed a visit to the city and made it one of their regular get away place as the Kennedys, Nancy and Ronald Reagan, Princess Caroline of Monaco, and Nelson Mandela just to name few dignitaries from the past.

Today, Marrakesh continues to attract and wow its visitors with its charm, architecture, and tradition. The historical La Mamounia Hotel has been the place to be for decades and continues to attract as ‘bees on honey’ nowadays celebrities such as Jenifer Aniston, Eva Mendes, Gwynneth Paltrow, Miranda Kerr, Elton John, Salma Hayek, and Nikole Kidman. Most recently President of Russia, Vladimir Putin hired the entire La Mamounia hotel for a week to celebrate his daughter’s wedding.

There are several music groups that have been welcomed to Marrakesh such as Rolling Stones and Grosby. There are songs that been inspired by Marrakesh such as Marrakesh Express and there are several movies filmed in Marrakesh such as “Alert au Sud” and “The man who knew too much’. But of course my soft spot is fashion and the history does not disappoint. This magical city was acknowledge by many world famous designers as Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Balmain who all bough homes there to infuse inspiration and muse from the vivacious atmosphere of the city preserved from the rich history and culture. In 2015, Musee Yves Saint Laurent open doors in Marrakesh. The museum is part of The Majorelle Garden which was created by a French artist over forty years ago. In 1980s, the property was purchased by the fashion designers, Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Berge, who achieved a great deal in their effort to restore the property's garden. Nowadays the property houses the Islamic Art Museum of Marrakesh, the Berbe Museum and most recently the Musee Yves Saint Laurent.

However, you don’t have to be a celebrity to feel as one and La Mamounia is not the only place to visit or stay. Dar Rhizlane is another excellent choice to deep in the Moroccan fusion. This is a prestigious residence in the heart of the Hivernage, where you will be able to take in forever a piece of the tranquility princely while intoxicated by the fabulous aroma of the Moroccan rose. Feel the Arabian feast, indulge in the Arabian culture, experience the local hospitality! And just like you are starting to feel as a Royal it’s the perfect time to step out and visit the Bahia Palace & Gardens. Referred by many as the Moroccan masterpiece of the 19 century, Bahia Palace remains one of the major cultural monuments till today.

Of course, your visit to Magical Marrakesh will not be complete without a visit to the Marrakesh market. Deep into the Arabian nights with a visit to the Jemaa al-Fnaa Square, where you will find an abundance of rainbow color spices, stunning ceramic pottery, and traditional Moroccan ‘kaftans.’ Open up your heart and feel the magic, it’s all around you. Whether you mingle with the soothsayers, the acrobats, the snake charmers, or the water-sellers you will feel the magic. It is the very same magic that keeps ‘the Royals, the Rock and Rollers and the Regulars’ keep on coming.
